Sapa Fansipan Camping 8 days 9 nights

Mt. Fansipan at 3143m and on the border with China. It is Vietnam's highest mountain. It is only 9 km from Sapa town but it takes at least three days to get to the peak and back. Sapa, at an elevation of 1600m, has been described as "Not easily reached... Sees few tourists... Unbelievable mountain scenery... 

Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi - Lao Cai (D)

 
Pick up at the airport. Welcome dinner, catch an overnight train (about 9 hours) to Lao Cai, 346 km to the northwest. Lao Cai is the last station in Vietnam on the French built train line to Yunnan, China. Overnight on the train.


Day 2: Lao Cai - Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B/L/D)

 
Arrive early morning in Lao Cai and transfer by minibus to Sapa. All day trekking to visit some minority villages. Lao Chai - Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai. You will meet some different minority people H'mong, Zay, Red Dzao, you can see the different colorful dresses. Free time to visit Sapa market. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.



Day 3: Start the Climb (B/L/D)

 
Commence the ascent of Mt. Fansipan by trekking through terraced rice fields and a hill tribe village of the H'mong. You will follow buffalo paths, crossing streams, until an elevation of 1700m, where we break for lunch. In the afternoon, continue to ascend for another 500m where a suitable camping ground is reached. This is the first peak, at 2200m elevation.

Day 4: Camp 1 - Camp 2 (B/L/D)
 
Breakfast. Continue trekking through a primary forest of giant, centuries-old pine and expanses of yellow bamboo. Continue climbing to a second peak at 2900m where we stop for lunch. After lunch, leave the gear in Camp 2 and push for the summit with just our cameras and water. After taking in the scenery and atmosphere on Vietnam's highest point, stroll back down to Camp 2 for dinner and Overnight there.


Day 5: Camp 2 - Sapa (B/L/D)

 
After the last breakfast on the mountain, take another route down to the foot of Mount Fansipan to visit and get an understandings of the lifestyles, the traditional customs of the people in a village of the Black H'mong called Sin Chai. Take bus back to Sapa (18 km). Lunch and check in to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.


Day 6: Sapa - Hanoi (B/L/D)

 
Free to explore Sapa town. In the afternoon, our bus will take you to Lao Cai Station for the night train to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.


Day 7: Hanoi (B)

 
Arrive in the early morning and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is for your own exploration. Overnight in Hanoi.


Day 8: Hanoi (B)

 
After a week of breathtaking adventure in North Vietnam you can say goodbye with fond memories. Transfer to the airport for your departure.

Sapa Hard Trekking Villages 3 days 4 nights

Day 1: Sapa – Mong Sen – Ta Phin ( B/L/D)

 
Arrive at Laocai railway station. Welcome by your local guide and driver, have breakfast at the restaurant then travel by car downhill to Mong Sen, where you start trekking uphill through a mountainous area by following a dirt trail. En route, you will have many opportunities to enjoy spectacular view over rice paddy terraces and cornfields. You will take a stop for lunch at a nice spot.
After lunch, the trek will continue by going downhill toward Taphin village where you can meet Red Dao and Black Hmong minorities, two largest ethnic groups in Sapa. Your guide will tell you about daily life and tradition of these two people. Here you stay overnight in local house. You will be able to take a walk around the village while your guide prepares dinner.

Day 2: Ta Phin – Ma Tra – Sapa ( B/L/D )
 
Once your breakfast finished, you will be heading toward Sapa. You will pass through several minority villages along the way. The walk through rice paddy terraces is very enjoyable. You then stop by Matra village of Black Hmong, where your lunch will be served atop a hill.
After lunch, you take a walk under the shadow of pine trees as well as a short walk from side to side of the town of Sapa.Check in the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Sapa.

Day 03: Sapa retreat ( B/L/_)
 
Morning drive to Silver waterfall, enjoy the beautiful stream of water falling down to the valley. Taking photos. Back to Sapa town for a cozy lunch.
Afternoon, free to discover the town or buy some souvenir in the central market until 16h30. Car transfer to Lao Cai train station. Dinner on guests account. Overnight in an air-conditioned soft sleeper cabin. End of services.

Sapa Biking Tour to Binh Lu 1 day

The trip starts from Sapa going uphill to the Silver Waterfall by a jeep. After the waterfall you will cycle up to Heavens Gate, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. From here you can enjoy the stunning scenery across the valley. You will then travel by bicycle down to the Black Hmong village .If the weather is good you can enjoy a swim in the river, while your guide prepares lunch. This is a good time to take a walk around the nearby village and see how the locals live. After lunch, you will descend to Binh Lu. Upon arrival in Binh Lu you can visit the village inhabited by the Coin Dzao minority people. After a long day of activity and sightseeing you can now enjoy the trip home by jeep! Muong Hum Market 2 days 3 nights

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai (night train)
 
We will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi at 8.00 pm and transfer you to Hanoi train station for the overnight train to Lao Cai province. Experience the romantic overnight train travel.


Day 2: Lao Cai station - Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B, L)

 
Arrive at Lao Cai's train station at 6.00 am. We will take 1-hour car ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival in Sapa town you have your breakfast and freshen up before the trip. Starting with 6km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. And then continuing with 3km of trekking down to Lao Chai village of the H’mong people. Lunch at a local house, and then walk through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Giay minority people. It gives you a worth chance to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily lifestyles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscape on the way. Get back to Sapa town by jeep or motorbike.


Day 3: Sapa - Muong Hum market (B, L)

 
This gives you an alternative option to visit a Sunday market in the remote area which is different from Bac Ha market. Leave Sapa early in the morning we take the bus down to Lao Cai Muong Hummarket which is located 35km from Y Ty border. On Sunday Muong Hum is always packed with colorful ethnic minorities such as Ha Nhi, Phu La, Tu Di, Black Dao, Giay, Red Hmong as well as Black Hmong. Muong Hum market is more authentic and less visited compared with Bac Ha market. After spending the whole morning exploring the market you will have lunch in a local restaurant then we go to visit the village of Ha Nhi tribe. Go back to Lao Cai to have dinner and take the night train back Hanoi.

Exploring Sapa Homestay 4 nights

Night 1: Take overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai
 
Be ready at your hotel lobby at 8:00 p.m, our tour guide and driver will meet and pick you up for a short transfer to Hanoi Station to take the overnight train to Lao Cai City.

Day 1: Sapa - Y Linh Ho- Lao Chai - Ta Van- Homestay (B, L, D)

Picked up at Lao Cai Station upon your early arrival for over an hour drive uphill in a shared mini van to Sapa. After freshen up and Breakfast in a local restaurant, transfer 6km along the main road to a beautiful spot where your village trek begins.
This part offers spectacular scenery of the highest part of Hoang Lien Son mountain range and in a nice day, Fansipan Peak can be seen. Crossing the river by a suspension bridge you will challenge your feet uphill to Y Linh Ho village. Here you will pay visiting to some H’mong families, watching them doing their daily works. After picnic Lunch, the trail continues up and down hill for about 2 hours as you reach to Lao Chai, a large village of the H’mong and then following the river bank to Ta Van of the Zay people, paying visiting to local homes, village schools… you will enjoy much your cultural discovery of local ethnic peoples as well as breathtaking scenery of the Muong Hoa Valley. Tonight you will enjoy a home stay in Ta Van Village for an unique life experience.

Day 2: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan - Ban Ho - Homestay (B, L, D)

Leaving Ta Van village after Breakfast and following the foot path uphill, you will pass through impressive terraced rice paddies on the hill slopes before getting through a bamboo forest, a huge waterfall to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao peoples. Walking around the village you will meet many women with their embroidery work to make their traditional dresses, occasionally you can see the blacksmiths making farming tools and even hunting riffles. Passing the Muong Hoa river again and then trek uphill to Su Pan village passing the rocks field with unique carving which is believed to be the messages of the ancient peoples. In this village you will see the special technique to build houses on the steep rocky land. From Su Pan trekking downhill for an hour, Ban Ho valley will opens wide in your sight. Arriving to Ban Ho of the Tay late in the afternoon, check in the spacious local house built on stilts for Dinner and Home stay.

Day 3: Ban Ho - Nam Toong - My Son - Thanh Phu (B, L, D)

After Breakfast we spend an hours walking to explore a part of Ban Ho, a large village of the Tay peoples who live on spacious wooden houses built on stilts and very well organized before ascending uphill to Nam Toong village of the Red Zao. The trail of this part is really steep but the higher you reach to, the more stunning scenery will open in your sight. The village locates on the top of a hill and almost isolated and the houses are rudimentary but the peoples are very welcoming.
After Nam Toong, the trail winds its way up and down hill slopes for an hours to Nam Keng and My Son, the two small villages of the Xa Pho ethnic whose population is only about 4000 in Vietnam. Most of the Xa Pho is still living the most primitive way basing on forest gathering, hunting and practicing slash and burn agriculture. Every family here built a small house on stilts away form their living house to avoid catching fire for store their food and valuable property.
Leaving this poor village, walking downhill to the river for a crossing and then uphill again to Thanh Phu, another Tay village where you will spend about one hours wandering around the village.

Day 4: Thanh Phu - Sapa free day - Overnight train to Hanoi  

Breakfast before car takes you back to our office in Sapa. Leave your luggage at our hotel.
Today is set free for your own plan to explore Sapa town. Our recommend is to take a walk to Sapa market, where you can meet tribal ethnic peoples such as Black H’mong, Red Zao, Zay… from nearby villages come every day selling their farming, gathering products: Vegetable, bamboo shoot, mushroom… and of course handicrafts for souvenir. Continue walking the steps from the market to the church and then onto the top of Ham Rong Mountain where you can visit an orchid garden and a small museum about ethnic peoples of the Northwest.
Picked up in the afternoon at about 16.00 by mini bus for a transfer downhill to Lao Cai station for taking the night train back to Hanoi which arrive early next morning and your trip ends.

Day 5: Hanoi arrival

You arrive in Hanoi station around 05.00am. Tour finishes.
